1923 W515-2 #47 Babe Ruth and 1926 W512 #3 Ty Cobb PSA-Graded Strip-Card Pair
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $600
Extremely presentable pair of strip cards featuring two of the most legendary Hall of Famers, Ty Cobb and Babe Ruth. 1) 1923 W515-2 #47 "Babe" Ruth: Mislabeled as a W515-1. Encapsulated as "Authentic" by PSA (likely due to measuring outside the size parameters for this issue), the card otherwise grades VG, with strong colors, a crisp image, sharp corners, and light creasing in the lower left. Clean blank reverse. A small line of text ("The Little") is visible in the top margin, which is part of the larger string of text printed at the top border of full sheets containing the set's name, "The Little Wonder Picture Series." 2) 1926 W512 #3 Ty Cobb: Graded GOOD 2 by PSA due to a tear at the top edge, the card otherwise presents Vg-Ex to Ex, with a clear image, crisp printing, and neatly-cut borders. "Ex-Mgr." variation. An outstanding pair of 1920s strip cards featuring Cobb and Ruth, each among the key cards in its respective set. Total: 2 cards. SOLD FOR $600
