Lot # 322 (of 1389)   < Previous Lot | Next Lot >

1914 E145 Cracker Jack #2 Frank "Homerun" Baker

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,320

Graded EX 60 by SGC. One of two examples graded at this level by SGC with just two higher (both EX/NM 80. Exceptionally strong high-grade example of key Hall of Famer (and condition rarity) Frank Baker from the 1914 Cracker Jack #144 series. This is a very attractive card with strong corners, flawless colors, perfect registration, outstanding centering, and very light caramel staining (which is expected with #144 series Cracker Jacks because of their method of issue, as all 1914 cards were issued in boxes of Cracker Jacks, as opposed to in factory sets). The 1914 Cracker Jacks, of course, are also far rarer than their 1915 counterparts. Few 1914 Cracker Jacks have survived in such strong condition, let alone of key Hall of Famer Frank Baker (who, as the #2 card in the set, tends to naturally be subject to more wear than all other cards in the set with the exception of card #1). An ideal high-quality addition to any 1914 Cracker Jack set or Hall of Fame collection. SOLD FOR $1,320
