1910 to 1919 T213 Coupon Cigarettes Jack Dunn Collection - All Three Types!
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $840
Presented are three T213 Coupon Cigarettes examples of Dunn, one from each of the three series. Interestingly, the first series card depicts Joe Dunn (Brooklyn), while series two and three feature the same image but refer to Jack Dunn (Baltimore). T213 Coupons are one of tobacco-card collecting's rarest and most overlooked series. The T213 Coupon sets were issued exclusively in the Louisiana area in 1910 (Type 1), 1914 (Type 2), and 1919 (Type 3). Similar in design and borrowing the same images as T206, they are far rarer than their T206 counterparts. Their connection and significance to the T206 set is especially fascinating due to cards where the players (who are featured with the same artwork as T206) are identified with teams different than those indicated in the T206 set. 1) 1910 T213 (Type 1) Coupon Joe Dunn: SGC POOR 10, Brooklyn. 2) 1914 T213 (Type 2) Coupon Jack Dunn: PSA VG 3, Baltimore. 3) 1919 T213 (Type 3) Coupon Jack Dunn: SGC GOOD 30, Baltimore. The T213 Coupon cards are seldom seen, and because of this receive little attention, but upon reflection we think it would be impossible for any advanced tobacco-card collector to not appreciate the intrigue and unique connection of T213 Coupons (as well as their extreme relative rarity) to the T206 White Border set. This is an attractive (and naturally very difficult to assemble) related trio of cards from one of tobacco-card collecting's most overlooked and significant issues. Total: 3 cards.
