1909-1911 T206 White Border Al Burch Batting - Brown Hindu Back

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $420

Presented is a T206 example of Al Burch/batting (Brooklyn Superbas) featuring a desirable Brown Hindu advertising reverse. This card is especially noteworthy as one of the eleven subjects only found with 150 series backs, the toughest of which is Brown Hindu. Each of these eleven subjects featuring a Brown Hindu reverse is presented individually in this auction for what may be the first time in hobby history. The eleven 150 subjects are the toughest of the Brown Hindus to collect (136 subjects have been confirmed to date). This represents a tremendous accomplishment and a unique opportunity for REA to present these eleven Brown Hindus at one time. Graded FAIR 20 by SGC, this example displays bold colors, even rounding to the corners, and a light crease to the bottom right corner. The Hindu advertisement is boldly printed in brown ink, with a faint ink stamp of collector "Howe McCormick" visible as well. Only two examples grade higher by SGC.
