1909-1911 T206 White Border Tris Speaker Rookie SGC EX 60

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $960

Graded EX 60 by SGC (submitted by REA). Crisp, clean example of this classic tobacco card of Hall of Famer Tris Speaker, considered by many to be among the most attractive of all T206 images. This is a particularly important Hall of Fame card in the set, as this is the only T206 pose of Speaker, as well as being his rookie card. This example displays light, even wear to the four corners and centering slightly to the left border. Near-flawless registration, bold colors, and no creases or wrinkles. The Sweet Caporal reverse is clean and centered slightly to the right. This is a very attractive example of this classic tobacco card in an extremely desirable grade.

The item in this lot is part of the deaccessioned property of a prominent northeast museum which has selected Robert Edward Auctions to handle the sale of donated sportscards and memorabilia in an effort to fund purchases more in line with the mission and goals of the museum.
