1911 T205 Gold Border P. J. Moran - "Stray Line of Type" Variation

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $1,320

Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Presented is a VG-EX example of the rare T205 "Stray Line of Type" variation of P. J. Moran, Phillies. This card was issued with and without a "stray line of type" on the reverse. This variation, with stray line, is by far the rarer of the two, and one of the rarest of all T205 Gold Borders. (In fact, only 44 examples in total have been graded by PSA to date!) The offered example is crisp and clean, with bold colors, honest wear to the four corners (slightly more to the upper left), and full, virtually flawless gold borders. Near-perfect centering. The card is very slightly out of register, but it is not overly distracting. The crisp, clean back, of course, is particularly desirable for this card. Polar Bear advertisement. A superb example of one of the T205 set's most elusive rarities that is naturally of special significance to anyone assembling a T205 master set. SOLD FOR $1,320
