1911 T205 Gold Border Irvin Wilhelm "Suffered" Variation SGC EX/NM 80 - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $3,000

Graded EX/NM 80 by SGC. Highest-graded example! Wilhelm is one of the particularly rare cards in the T205 Gold Border set. Few realize that there are actually two variations to this card, relating to the text on the reverse (the variations are checklisted in The Standard Catalog as 202a and 202b). Presented here is the rarer of the two variations, and one of the most difficult to find of all T205 Gold Borders. This variation has “Suffered” in the eighteenth line of the bio (compared to the more common variation, which is missing an 'f'). The card is well-centered with bold color and a strong image. The corners show light touches of wear and the gold borders are virtually flawless. Perfectly clean Hassan advertising reverse. This is an extremely strong example of this rarity and a worthy addition to any T205 Gold Border master set. SOLD FOR $3,000
