1909 T204 Ramly Tobacco SGC-Graded Collection (30) Including Seven Hall of Famers

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $6,600

Exceptionally attractive collection of thirty T204 Ramly Tobacco cards, each professionally graded and encapsulated "Authentic" by SGC, highlighted by seven Hall of Famers, including Roger Bresnahan, Eddie Plank, and Joe Tinker. The thirty cards in this collection originate from the same world-class Ramly collection offered by REA in the Spring 2014 auction. All but a few cards in this collection are encapsulated as "Authentic" by SGC due to having been hand-cut from a sheet long ago. (Several cards in this lot are NOT from the Frank Nagy uncut sheet, and have been deemed by SGC to have a slight trim.) They all display beautifully, consistent with examples graded Ex to Nr/Mt, with crisp images, sharp corners (some displaying light touches of wear), and near-flawless gold borders. The collection consists of the following: Arrelanes, Ball, Beebe, Bell, Bender (HOF), Bresnahan (HOF), Bridwell, Byrnes, Cicotte (Black Sox), Clymer, Devlin, two Evers (HOF), two Ferguson, Hartzell, Hoblitzel, Keeler (HOF), Loebert, McConnell, Mitchell, Paskert, Plank (HOF), Sheckard, Shipke, Smith, Steinfeldt, Sweeney, Tinker (HOF), and Unglaub. Ramlys are among the rarest and most desirable of all tobacco-card issues. With their distinctive gold-embossed borders and regal design, they are also widely regarded as one of the most beautiful of all baseball-card issues. This is a beautiful, crisp, clean collection of these rare and classic cards that will likely be available at a fraction of the cost of numerically-graded examples without sacrificing anything in the way of eye-appeal. Total: 30 cards. SOLD FOR $6,600
