1911 T3 Turkey Red #19 Addie Joss
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $1,200
Graded VG-EX+ 4.5 by PSA. One of only two examples graded at this level. An extremely attractive example of Hall of Famer Addie Joss from the T3 Turkey Red cabinet-card series. It is fascinating to note that the T3 Joss card was issued in the year of his passing, as was the T205 card of Joss which mentions his untimely death in the text of the reverse. Joss tragically passed away from meningitis on April 14, 1911. The premium offer on the back of the T3 Joss, as listed at the bottom of the reverse of the card, expires June 30, 1911. Bright and crisp, both front and back, with bold, rich colors, light touches of wear on the corners, and a very clean checklist reverse. A very faint surface wrinkle on the reverse appears to be solely responsible for keeping this card out of an EX or higher holder. This is one of Addie Joss’ most striking cards, in an extremely desirable grade, worthy of the finest Turkey Red or Hall of Fame collection. SOLD FOR $1,200
