1909-1911 T206 White Border Ty Cobb (American Beauty 460) & Cy Young SGC-Graded Pair

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $3,600

Presented are two classic Hall of Fame cards from the legendary T206 White Borders series, each very attractive but technically modest in grade. Both cards are graded and encapsulated by SGC (submitted by REA). 1) Ty Cobb/bat off. American Beauty 460 back. Graded FAIR 20, the card presents with bold colors, even rounding to the corners, and centering to the bottom left. Presenting as VG, the card is downgraded due to an ink stamp on the reverse. The important American Beauty 460 reverse is otherwise clean and boldly printed. 2) Cy Young/portrait. Graded GOOD+ 35. Striking image with bold colors and even wear to the corners. Beautifully centered, with only a faint horizontal crease along the bottom responsible for the downgrade on an otherwise Vg+ card. The Sweet Caporal reverse is entirely clean. This is an attractive and relatively affordable pair of classic original tobacco cards featuring two of the key Hall of Famers from this iconic set, representing a potentially outstanding vintage-card value. Total: 2 cards.
