1920s Chicago Cubs Pennant - Extremely Rare Style!
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $480
The red-felt pennant features an illustration of a bear head and the team name, "Chicago Cubs," both of which are displayed in white paint. This is an exceedingly rare Cubs pennant dating from the 1920s, and in fact is the very first example we have ever offered. (And this is over the past forty years!) The pennant (24 inches long), which is complete with both tassels, displays three tack holes (one at each end and another at the tip) and minor darkening to the top portion of the felt. This is an exceptional 1920s Cubs pennant and ideal for display. All of the painted illustrations and letters remain intact. In Excellent condition overall.
Information regarding dating this pennant was obtained from Mike Egner's extraordinary and authoritative guide book Vintage Pennant Price Guide (Baseball & Football Edition), published in 2009. SOLD FOR $480
