Two Early Baseball Publications: 1899 Spalding Guide and 1903 Schedule Booklet

This pair of early baseball publications is comprised of an 1889 Spalding's Base Ball Guide and a 1903 pocket schedule for the American and National leagues. The Spalding Guide (4.25 x 6.5 inches) is in Good condition overall. The back cover, which is almost completely detached from the spine, displays an area of paper loss along the top. The remainder of the book is heavily worn, including a number of minor tears to the front cover and interior pages. The 32-page schedule booklet (3 x 5.25 inches) was a promotional giveaway issued by "White, Hentz & Co. of Philadelphia - Sole Proprietors of Trimble Whiskey." The booklet provides the season schedule for each team in the National and American Leagues, as well as statistics and records of previous seasons and a few blank score sheets. In Good to Very Good condition overall, with moderate wear including a number of pencil notations along the interior. Total: 2 publications. SOLD FOR $240
