1963 Fleer Complete PSA-Graded Set (67)

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $3,600

High-grade complete set of all sixty-seven cards (#1 thru 66 plus the unnumbered checklist card) from the 1963 Fleer set, considered by many to be among the most attractive as well as significant issues of the early 1960s. These cards have long been a special favorite of collectors, and with good reason: They are far rarer than Topps issues from the era; they are unusual; they have a great significance to the history of the "bubble-gum card wars"; it is a relatively small set; and the set includes so many great stars from the golden era of the early 1960s. The fact that this set is very challenging to collect in high grade, and has a rare checklist card which is extremely difficult to find in high grade, gives this set a mystique and even greater appeal to serious collectors. 1963 Fleer are never going out of style with advanced collectors. This is one of the premier sets of the 1960s. Each card has been graded and encapsulated by PSA. The set includes fifteen PSA 8s and fifty-two PSA 7s. Assembling a set of this extraordinary quality is no small feat, especially when considering that centering problems are so very common with this issue. PSA Grading Composite: NM-MT 8 (15 cards): #7, 15, 19, 22 Kaat, 25 Richardson, 36, 45 Spahn (HOF), 49, 53, 56 Clemente (HOF), 57, 59 Mazeroski (HOF), 61 Gibson (HOF), 64 Cepeda (HOF), and checklist. NM 7 (52 cards): #1 Barber, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 Yastrzemski (HOF), 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 29 Piersall, 30, 31, 32 Santo (HOF), 33, 34 Pinson, 35, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41 Drysdale (HOF), 42, 43 Wills RC, 44, 46 Adcock SP, 47, 48, 50, 51, 52, 54, 55, 58, 60 Boyer, 62, 63 White, 65, and 66 O'Dell (last card in set). This is a simply stunning ultra high-grade set of this popular issue, one of the finest we have ever handled. The total SMR value for the sixty-seven individual cards is $3,283. Total: 67 cards.
