1888 N74 W. Duke & Sons "Fishers and Fish" PSA NM 7 & NM-MT 8 Collection (4)

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $300

Extraordinary ultra high-grade collection of four different 1888 W. Duke & Sons "Fishers and Fish" cards, each graded and encapsulated NM 7 or NM-MT 8 by PSA. Remarkably, only three cards, of any subject, from this series have ever graded NM-MT 8 (with none higher). All four of these colorful tobacco cards are bright and crisp and have managed to avoid common flaws that tend to plague nineteenth-century cards and often cause them to grade very modestly, including paper loss, glue residue, and writing on the reverse. In the following condition composite, cards are identified by the numbers provided by the American Tobacco Cards Price Guide checklist. PSA Condition Composite: One NM-MT 8: #44 (1 of 1, none higher). Three NM 7: #15 (1 of 2, none higher), 22 (1 of 1, none higer), and 28 (1 of 1, one higher). This is a rarely offered, exceptionally attractive, and unparalled ultra high-grade quartet of cards from this classic nineteenth-century nonsport tobacco-card set, each of which would be a worthy addition to any nonsport-card collection. Total: 4 cards. SOLD FOR $300
