1889 N5 Allen & Ginter "Birds of the Tropics" PSA-Graded Collection (10) - All Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $840

Extraordinary ultra high-grade collection of ten different 1889 Allen & Ginter "Birds of the Tropics" cards, each graded and encapsulated by PSA and each ranking as the highest-graded example in the PSA Population Report. All ten of these colorful tobacco cards are bright and crisp and have managed to avoid common flaws that tend to plague nineteenth-century cards and often cause them to grade very modestly, including paper loss, glue residue, and writing on the reverse. In the following condition composite, cards are identified by the numbers provided by the American Tobacco Cards Price Guide checklist. All cards are 1 of 1, none higher, unless otherwise noted. PSA Condition Composite: Seven NM 7: #10, 17, 18, 32, 34, 36 (1 of 2), and 43. Two EX-MT 6: #4 (1 of 2) and 30 (1 of 3). One EX 5: #41 (1 of 3). This is a rarely offered, exceptionally attractive, and unparalled ultra high-grade collection of cards from this classic nineteenth-century nonsport tobacco-card set, each of which would be a worthy addition to any nonsport-card collection. Total: 10 cards. SOLD FOR $840
