1946 The Three Stooges Beer Barrel Polecats Lobby Card
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,200
Lobby card from the Three Stooges 1946 short Beer Barrel Polecats. The names of both Moe Howard and Larry Fine have been scripted on the front of the card in black felt-tip pen, but in the opinion of James Spence Authentication, neither name represents the signature of the respective actor. Beer Barrel Polecats was the group's first film of 1946. Set in the age of prohibition, the Stooges take to making their own beer, which ultimately gets them sent to prison, yet again. Curly was still suffering the effects of a minor stroke at this time, so the director used footage of Curly from previous films to compensate. The card (14 x 11 inches) has benefitted from restoration in repair of three tack holes (two in the upper left corner and one in the upper right corner). There are also two large, but light, diagonal creases in the upper and lower left corners. In Very Good to Excellent condition. SOLD FOR $1,200
