1946 The Three Stooges Three Little Pirates Lobby Card
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,440
Lobby card from the Three Stooges 1946 short Three Little Pirates. This was the penultimate Three Stooges short featuring Curly. It is also widely considered their best film from 1946. The plot featured the boys as sailors on a garbage scow who wind up stranded on Dead Man's Island in 1672. During the course of their adventure, they disguise themselves as foreign travelers, with Curly playing the nearsighted Maharaja of Canarsie and Moe the Gin of Rummy. This was a routine they first performed in the 1941 musical comedy Time Out For Rhythm. The card (14 x 11 inches) has benefitted from restoration in the form of cleaning and airbrushing along the border areas. Near Mint in appearance.
