1944 The Three Stooges No Dough Boys Lobby Card
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,320
Lobby card from the Three Stooges 1944 short No Dough Boys. This was the Stooges' final film of 1944 and in keeping with current events, it involved a wartime theme. The Stooges were modeling as Japanese soldiers for a photo shoot, and while at lunch, still in costume, they are mistaken for three real Japanese soldiers whose submarine was recently destroyed offshore. A meeting with a Nazi spy, who also mistakes them for their Japanese counterparts adds to the hilarity. In the end, though, the Stooges prove victorious, defeating both the Nazis and the Japanese soldiers. This scene card pictures the boys confronted by a U.S. soldier. The card (14 x 11 inches) has benefitted from restoration in the form of cleaning and airbrushing, as well as repair to a few tack holes and edge tears. Excellent to Mint in appearance.
