1937 The Three Stooges Cash and Carry Lobby Card
Starting Bid - $2,000, Sold For - $4,500
Lobby card to the Three Stooges 1937 short Cash and Carry. This is an exceedingly rare Stooges lobby card and one of only three cards from the film we have ever seen (the title lobby card realized $5,036 in our April 2014 auction). Cash and Carry, the Stooges' twenty-fifth short for Columbia, involved the boys trying to raise money for an operation for a crippled child. Unfortunately, their efforts at finding buried treasure end up with them digging into the United States Treasury. The card (14 x 10.75 inches) measures slightly smaller than normal for a lobby card, but it does not appear to be trimmed. There is a small horizontal tear in the lower right border and the corners are slightly rounded. Minor restoration, in the form of airbrushing, is evident along the top, bottom, and left borders. With the exception of the tiny tear at the base of the right border, the card displays an Excellent to Mint overall appearance.
