1946 Dressed to Kill Complete Lobby-Card Set
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $600
Complete set of eight lobby cards (14 x 11 inches) from the 1946 Universal Pictures release Dressed to Kill. This was the fourteenth and final film in which Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce starred, respectively, as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. In this offering, Holmes matches wits with a beautiful villain, played by Patricia Morison, in a race to locate the stolen Bank of England printing plates. Five of the lobby cards, including the title card, display an embossed distribution-company stamp in the lower left corner. The title card displays a one-inch horizontal tear along the left border that has been repaired with tape on the reverse and is in Very Good to Excellent condition. The remaining cards display a number of minor flaws consistent with their age and former use (nearly all of which affect the border areas), including, but not limited to, tack/staple holes and minor tears/repairs. Conditions range from Gd-Vg to Ex, averaging Vg-Ex. Total: 8 lobby cards. SOLD FOR $600
