1942 Ghost of Frankenstein Title Lobby Card

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $2,280

Title lobby card to the 1942 Universal Pictures release The Ghost of Frankenstein. This film, the fourth Frankenstein movie produced by Universal, is especially notable for the fact it marked the first and only time that horror-movie legend Lon Chaney Jr. played the part of the monster. The film also costarred Bela Lugosi as Ygor. The artwork used here for the title card, which features large portraits of both Chaney and Lugosi, is the same used on the half sheet. The card (14 x 11 inches) has benefitted from professional restoration to a number of border tears, some of which extend into the main image area, as well as to tack holes. Accompanied by a COA from MPgrading, which has graded the card FINE- 6.5 RG (Restored Grade). This is an extremely attractive example of one of the most desirable title cards from Universal's classic horror franchise.
