Circa 1935 Buck Rogers Pocket Watch in Original Box!

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $960

Buck Rogers pocket watch, produced by Ingraham circa 1935, complete with its exceedingly rare original box. The colorful watch face features an illustrated image of Buck Rogers and Wilma Deering, with Deering's hands holding the second-hand dial. The hour and minute hands are in the form of copper thunderbolts. An engraved image on the back of the silver-colored metallic casing pictures one-eyed Comet Man holding a shield. The watch (2 inches in diameter) is in working order and displays light wear, including a few light scratches to the reverse. The dial remains clean and bright. In Very Good to Excellent condition overall. The rare box features a different illustration of Buck Rogers and Wilma Deering on the lid, with additional illustrations of characters from the comic strip adorning the side flaps. The box is complete with its original gold-colored diecut insert (which the watch rests upon), but it does not include the original Ingraham instruction sheet. The box (2.75 x 3 x .75 inches) is missing one of the side flaps on the top lid. Light-to-moderate wear includes minor surface paper loss on the bottom on the box and a few abrasions to the cardboard insert. Without reference to the missing flap, the box remains in Excellent condition overall. This is one of the classic character watches dating from the 1930s made all the more desirable by the inclusion of the seldom-seen original box.
