1960-1996 World Series Program Collection - Complete Run Plus Duplicates (72)

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,422

Complete run of every World Series program issued between the years 1960 and 1989 (forty-four programs) including five signed examples (one of which is signed by Mantle). Also included are two additional years, twenty-six duplicates, and two World Series tickets. It should be noted that up until 1973 each club issued its own World Series program (thus there are two programs for each of these years); however, in 1974, Major League Baseball began producing a single official program for the entire Series. This collection includes an example issued by each club between the years 1960 and 1973. Five New York Yankees World Series programs, issued for the years 1960 through 1964, respectively, have been signed on the interior by a number of players (nearly all are executed in blue Sharpie and grade "9" or "10"). The signatures represented in each program are as follows: 1960 (Houk, Cerv, Skowron, Coates, Arroyo, Sheldon, Daley, and Reniff); 1961 (Skowron); 1962 (Houk, Skowron, Tresh, Linz, Ford, Coates, Daley, Bouton, Sheldon, Arroyo, Dark, Cepeda, Marichal, and Larsen); 1963 (Ford and Bouton); and 1964 (Mantle). There are duplicates for the following years, with the number of duplicates noted in parenthesis (if more than one): 1962 Yankees, 1963 Yankees, 1973 Mets (3), 1976 (3), 1977 (5), 1980, 1981 (8), 1983 (2), 1987, and 1989. Also included in the collection are World Series programs from 1992 and 1996, a 1973 New York Mets World Series Ticket (Game 3; Ex-Mt) which has been signed on the reverse in blue ink ("10") by Tom Seaver, and a 1977 New York Yankees World Series Ticket (Game 1; Ex-Mt). Ten of the thirty-three programs dating between the years 1960 and 1973 have been scored. The programs range in grade from Very Good to Near Mint, averaging Excellent. Total: 72 programs (26 of which are duplicates), plus two World Series tickets. LOA from James Spence/JSA.Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,422
