1913 Philadelphia Athletics (vs Giants) World Series Program

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $2,370

Substantial thirty-two page 1913 World Series program issued for the games at Shibe Park in Philadelphia. This is the scarcer of the two programs issued for the 1913 World Series. The cover features an illustration of a white elephant, while the pages display photos and biographies of all the key members of the Athletics, including manager Connie Mack, Eddie Plank, Chief Bender, Eddie Collins, Frank Baker, Jack Barry, and Herb Pennock. The program has not been scored. The A's defeated the Giants in five games in the 1913 fall classic, with only Games 2 and 4 taking place in Philadelphia. The program (8 x 10.75 inches) displays a few areas of moderate toning along the white borders of the front cover (from how it was stored over the years), otherwise in outstanding Excellent to Mint condition. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $2,370
