1911 T205 Gold Border Roger Bresnahan (Mouth Open) PSA NM-MT 8 - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $2,000, Sold For - $5,333

Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Ultra high-grade example of Hall of Famer Roger Bresnahan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Mouth Open variation. This card is by far the rarer of the two Bresnahan variations and since the days of Jefferson Burdick has always been recognized as one of the key rare cards of the T205 set. This is one of three examples graded at this impressive level with none higher out of eighty-seven cards evaluated to date. For all subjects, of the 28,988 T205 Gold Borders graded in the history of PSA to date, only 180 have graded PSA 8, with just eight cards (four NM-MT+ 8.5 and four MINT 9) grading higher which makes this significant Hall of Famer even more noteworthy. Tremendous "pack-fresh" example. Bright, crisp, and clean, with brilliant colors, perfect registration, and four razor-sharp corners. Centered almost 50/50 all around. The Hassan reverse of the card is also perfectly bright and clean, centered to the right, and without even the slightest hint of tobacco staining. This is a very sharp high-grade T205 Hall of Famer example from this condition sensitive set. The SMR value for the assigned grade is $7,250. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $4,000+. SOLD FOR $5,333
