1956 Topps #33 Roberto Clemente SGC NM/MT+ 92

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $2,015

Graded NM/MT+ 92 by SGC. Of the 571 1956 Topps Roberto Clemente examples graded by SGC to date, only six have ever been graded NM/MT+ 92, and only three examples have ever been graded higher at MINT 96 by SGC. Pack-fresh gem of card #33 Roberto Clemente (white-back variety) from the classic 1956 Topps set. The card exhibits flawless colors, perfect gloss, and four razor-sharp corners. 1956 Topps rarely survive in NM/MT or better condition, in part because the paper stock is so prone to wear, especially to the corners. This is an exceptionally attractive ultra high-grade example of one of Roberto Clemente's most classic cards, dating from his second year in the Major Leagues, bordering on MINT condition! This card originally appeared as lot #629 in REA's Spring 2013 auction (selling for $1,422) and has been consigned directly by the buyer at that sale. The equivalent SMR value for the assigned grade is $1,750.
Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $2,015
