1921 E121 American Caramel (Series of 80) Walter Johnson - Hands At Chest - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $711

Graded EX 5 by PSA. Highest-graded example of key Hall of Famer Walter Johnson (hands at chest pose) from the E121 American Caramel (Series of 80) set. American Caramel cards from this era have always been appreciated by collectors for their simple and classic design. This card is no exception as Johnson is shown in an ideal ready-to-pitch pose set against a plain white background. One of the highlights of a newly discovered collection, the card is crisp and clean with four strong corners displaying just light, even wear. The flawless image is centered towards the right. The reverse is clean and boldly printed. This is an extremely strong and attractive example of Washington Senators Hall of Famer Walter Johnson, one of the key cards from this popular 1920s caramel-card issue. The SMR value for the assigned grade is $1,000. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $711
