1921 E121 American Caramel (Series of 80) Ray Schalk PSA NM-MT 8 - 1 of 1 - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $400, Sold For - $1,067

Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. This is the ONLY example graded at this level with none higher! Ultra high-grade card of Chicago White Sox Hall of Famer Ray Schalk from the E121 American Caramel (Series of 80) set. American Caramel cards from this era have always been appreciated by collectors for their simple, classic design. This card is no exception as Schalk is portrayed in a full-length batting pose set against a plain white background. One of the highlights of a newly discovered collection, the card is crisp and clean with four sharp corners, a flawless image, and excellent centering. The reverse is clean and boldly printed. The condition and well-deserved PSA NM-MT 8 grade on this card is extremely impressive. Of the total population of 1,321 E121 American Caramel Company cards of all players graded by PSA to date, only twenty have graded NM-MT 8, and only two examples have graded higher (both NM-MT+ 8.5). An exceptional example of this Hall of Famer in unparalleled high grade from this popular 1920s caramel-card issue. The SMR value for the assigned grade is $1,500. Reserve $400. Estimate $800/$1,200. SOLD FOR $1,067
