1909-1911 T206 Frank Chance - Portrait, Yellow Background - SGC EX 60 - Carolina Brights Back - Highest Graded!

Graded EX 60 by SGC. Highest-graded example of Chicago Cubs Hall of Famer Frank Chance (portrait, yellow background pose) from the legendary T206 set, with the scarce Carolina Brights advertising reverse. Extremely popular among collectors for its ornate back, Carolina Brights is ranked as the eleventh most difficult back variation (out of thirty-nine) within the T206 set according to EX 60 is a very high grade for a Carolina Brights example as only fifteen cards (out of 450) have ever graded higher according to the combined population reports of PSA and SGC. The offered example is especially noteworthy as it is by far the highest graded of the five Chance yellow portrait examples ever graded by SGC (the remaining four range in grade from Authentic to GOOD 30) and only three have been reviewed by PSA (all PR 1). Bright and clean with a crisp image, bold colors, and flawless registration. Excellent centering, just a hint to the left, and bright white borders. The corners display light wear, most noticeable in the lower right. The reverse is perfectly clean, boldly printed, and well centered. An outstanding example of this extremely desirable advertising back featuring Hall of Famer Frank Chance in particularly high grade. Reserve $300. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $5,333
