1911 T205 Gold Border Irvin Wilhelm ("suffered" in 18th line) PSA EX 5

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,963

Wilhelm is one of the particularly rare cards in the T205 Gold Border set. Few realize that there are actually two variations to this card, relating to the text on the reverse (the variations are checklisted in The Standard Catalog as 202a and 202b). Presented here is the rarer of the two variations, and one of the most difficult to find of all T205 Gold Borders. This variation has “Suffered” in the 18th line of the bio and has been graded EX 5 by PSA. The card is well-centered with bold color and a strong image. The delicate gold border is free of chipping, and the corners display light evidence of wear at the tips, including slight rounding of the top two. The Hassan reverse is clean and boldly printed. This is an extremely strong example of this significant rarity and a worthy addition to any T205 Gold Border master set.Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000++. SOLD FOR $2,963
