Hall of Fame Autograph Collection (76 HOFers) with Ott, Alexander, Mantle, Paige, plus other stars including two Maris!

Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $3,258.75

This large autograph collection has many highlights and features seventy-six Hall of Fame signatures (representing thirty different players), plus an additional ten non-Hall of Fame signatures, including two Roger Maris signatures. (One item, a photo, is signed by Mantle, Maris, and Tom Tresh.) Items have been listed by category, with the number of items for each respective player, if more than one, listed in parentheses. Signatures, penned in a variety of inks, range from "6" to "10," averaging "8." Yellow Hall of Fame plaque postcards (41): All but seven of the cards have been trimmed approximately one-half inch along the base, with two (Hubbell and L. Waner) having been heavily trimmed, leaving just the brown-plaque image. Unless otherwise noted, each is signed on the front. Without regard to the trimming, the cards average Very Good condition and all display very nicely. Comprised of the following: Appling (not trimmed), Boudreau (3), Coveleski (3), Cronin (not trimmed), Dickey (3; one personalized "To Chris"), Haines, Hooper, Hoyt, Hubbell (4), Leonard (3), Marquard, McCarthy (3), Medwick (2), Musial (4; none trimmed), Paige, Rice, Roush (3; each signed on the front and back), Terry (not trimmed), L. Waner (4). 3 x 5-inch cards or similar sized sheets of paper (19): A few of of the items in this category are slightly trimmed 3 x 5-inch cards, as well as slightly larger slips of heavy-stock paper. Ex overall. Comprised of the following: Alexander, Bell, Gomez (3), Griffith (on a government postcard, postmarked 1953), Hubbell (10), Koufax, Ott, L. Waner. Baseball Cards (5): Includes reprint cards. Each is signed on the front. All have back damage from having been removed from an album; otherwise Vg-Ex. Miscellaneous (6): Ex overall. Bell (2; one on the reverse of a business card from "Normal 'Tweed' Webb/Black Baseball Historian" and the other on a small cut magazine photo), Mantle (7.5 x 8.5-inch photo of Mantle posing with Roger Maris and Tom Tresh; also signed by Maris and Tresh), Paige (8 x 10-inch photo; Paige began signing with a blue pen that was obviously not working. The "S" in "Satchel" is in blue ink, the remainder of the signature is in red ink), Ruffing (small photo), Stengel (promotional cardboard giveaway in the shape of a baseball; signed front and back; personalized on the front "To Chris").
