1936 New York Yankees World Championship Team-Signed Ball with Gehrig and DiMaggio

Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $7,110.00

Official American League (Harridge) ball signed by the following twenty-six members of the 1936 World Champion New York Yankees: Gehrig (ss; "7"), DiMaggio, Combs, Lazzeri, Dickey, Ruffing, Gomez (clubhouse signature), Saltzgaver, Rolfe, Malone, Broaca, Crosetti, Selkirk, Kleinhans, Heffner, Chapman, Hadley, Fletcher (coach), Schulte (coach), Jorgens, Sundra, Brown, Pearson, Johnson, Hoag, and Murphy. Signatures range from "3" to "7," averaging "6." 1936 marked the first of four consecutive World Championships for the New York Yankees, a feat that would be exceeded only by the 1949-1953 Yankees World Championship dynasty. 1936 New York Yankees team-signed balls with authentic Gehrig and DiMaggio signatures (as opposed to clubhouse examples) are particularly scarce, and we cannot recall the last time we offered one. This is a tremendous mid-grade example and one that would be a welcome addition to any substantial Yankees or team-signed ball collection. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,500+. SOLD FOR $7,110.00
