Early 1930s Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig Signed Ball

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $2,133.00

Official American League (Harridge) ball signed in black fountain pen by Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Ruth's signature is scripted across the sweet spot, while Gehrig's appears on a side panel. Both signatures, which are light, but legible, are affected by a few light surface abrasions and grade "3." This ball dates to the 1931-1934 manufacturing period, which also marks the four final seasons in which Ruth and Gehrig played together. The ball is moderately toned, with numerous minor abrasions throughout. In Good to Very Good condition overall. Ruth/Gehrig signed balls have always been, and probably will always be, the most desirable of all dual-signed balls. A ball such as this, while admittedly not perfect, remains an extremely presentable alternative for those collectors wishing to obtain a Ruth/Gehrig ball without having to "break the bank" in order to do so. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,500+. SOLD FOR $2,133.00
