Circa 1930s Babe Ruth Single-Signed Baseball

Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $7,702.50

"Professional League" baseball, produced by J. DeBeer & Sons (under its "Anchor Brand" line), signed by Babe Ruth. Ruth's black fountain-pen signature sits upon the sweet spot and grades "6/7." While we have been unable to definitively date this ball, the fact that it features white-and-blue stitching, as opposed to solid red, suggests to us that it was produced in the 1930s, or perhaps earlier. If so, there is a possibility that it was signed by Ruth during his playing career. The ball displays light-to-moderate wear, and the manufacturer's stampings, although slightly faded, are all clearly legible. In Very Good condition overall. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$4,000. SOLD FOR $7,702.50
