Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $2,370.00

For more information about the assembly and the condition of the PSA-graded complete 1933 Goudey set that is consigned to this auction (of which this is a part) and which has been broken down into 110 smaller lots, please visit this link which provides the introduction to the set that appears in the printed catalog:

Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Out of 388 examples graded by PSA to date, only nineteen have been graded at this level, and only five have ever been graded higher. Popular #220 Lefty Grove from the classic 1933 Goudey set featuring the Philadelphia Athletics Hall of Famer in his signature pitching pose. Grove was a dominant pitcher throughout his career, particularly during the three-year stretch from 1929 to 1931 in which his Athletics won the league each year and the World Series twice. He finished with exactly 300 wins and is a 1947 inductee into Cooperstown. This card displays crisp colors, flawless registration, and is centered slightly to the right. A very attractive, extremely high-grade PSA example that would be a significant addition to virtually any 1933 Goudey PSA Registry set or Hall of Fame collection. SMR is $2,500. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,500+. SOLD FOR $2,370.00
