1969 Topps Complete Set Minus One (663/664)

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $5,925.00

70% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt, 22% Ex-Mt, and 8% Ex (including a few lesser). Crisp, clean, very sharp-looking complete set. The 1969 Topps set is highlighted by the rookie cards of Oakland A's HOFers Reggie Jackson and Rollie Fingers, plus the last card of Mickey Mantle. This final card of "The Mick," who retired March 1, 1969, contains his complete statistical record on the reverse. Clemente, Mays, Aaron, Rose, and all the other great stars of the era are also included. This set is missing only #573 Palmer for completion, but does include two checklist variations of #107 and 582. This is a very sharp set, saved for decades in our consignor's family, and was very likely built from packs in the year of issue. We have selected three cards to be graded and encapsulated by PSA. Keys: #20 Banks (Nr/Mt), 50 Clemente (Ex-Mt), 95 Bench (Nr/Mt), 100 Aaron (PSA NM 7), 120 Rose (Nr/Mt+), 130 Yastrzemski (Ex-Mt), 190 Mays (Ex+), 200 Gibson (Nr/Mt+), 250 F. Robinson (Nr/Mt), 255 Carlton (Ex-Mt), 260 Jackson RC (PSA NM-MT 8), 480 Seaver (Ex-Mt), 500 Mantle (PSA NM-MT 8 OC), 510 Carew (Nr/Mt), 533 Ryan (Ex-Mt), 550 B. Robinson (Nr/Mt+), 597 Fingers RC (Nr/Mt-Mt), and 630 Bonds RC (80/20 L/R, otherwise Nr/Mt). Many of the lesser-graded cards within this set have a higher-grade appearance and have been downgraded solely due to minor centering problems, which are common with the 1969 Topps set. This is a beautiful high-grade set of one of the great 1960s Topps issues, loaded with Hall of Famers. Total: 665 cards (complete set of 664 minus one card plus two variations). Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+. SOLD FOR $5,925.00
