1953 Stahl-Meyer Franks Collection Including Mickey Mantle (4)

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,659.00

Collection of four different cards (out of the nine cards in the set) from the 1953 Stahl-Meyer Franks set. Stahl-Meyers have long been recognized as one of the most desirable of all 1950s food issues. The collection is highlighted by key card Mickey Mantle (this is one of the rarest and most attractive of all Mantle cards). The other players included are Hall of Famers Duke Snider and Monte Irvin, and major star Bobby Thomson. Stahl-Meyers were regionally issued in the New York area, one card per package, with Stahl-Meyer Franks. The set features a selection of stars from all three New York teams. Due to their method of issue, cards from this series are commonly found in rough condition. All the cards in this group are in Fair condition. This is a very attractive low-grade collection consigned directly by the family that bought these cards with Stahl-Meyer Franks in 1953! A significant foundation for the assembly of a complete set of this extremely popular 1950s food issue, including Mickey Mantle. Total: 4 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,659.00
