1952 Berk Ross Collection Including Two Mantles (32 cards)

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $2,133.00

Recently discovered collection of thirty-two cards (twenty-five different) from the 1952 Berk Ross set highlighted by several key star cards, including Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, Willie Mays, and two examples of Mickey Mantle. 1952 Berk Ross is a fascinating set, as it includes Joe DiMaggio's final traditional trading card as a player, and also Mickey Mantle in the same pose as his 1951 Bowman rookie card. The 1952 Berk Ross cards are similar in design to the 1951 Berk Ross card set, though slightly different in dimensions (they are larger and vertical in format) and the set was issued as individual cards instead of the perforated two-card panel design from the previous year. The condition of this collection is as follows: sixteen Vg-Ex or better, twelve Gd to Vg, and four Pr. We have selected three cards to be graded by SGC. This collection consists of the following: Bauer, two Carrasquel, Collins, DiMaggio (EX 60), Doby (Vg-Ex), two Doerr (Vg-Ex and Vg), Ennis, two Kennedy, Kuzava, two Lopat, two Mantle (EX 60 and Fr), two Martin (Vg-Ex and Pr), Mays (Pr), Morgan, Newcombe, two Parnell, Reynolds, Rigney, Rizzuto (Vg-Ex), Spencer, Thompson, Wertz, Westlake, Williams (EX/NM 80), and Zernial. The 1952 Berk Ross set is among the most interesting and overlooked sets of the era and is also far rarer than collectors realize. This is an excellent representation from this set with several notable highlights. The equivalent SMR value for just the three graded cards is $1,075. Total: 32 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $2,133.00
