1925 Zeenut PCL Partial Set (128/164) Including Paul and Lloyd Waner, Lazzeri, and O'Doul

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $3,851.25

Partial set of 128 of the 164 different 1925 Zeenut cards featuring Pacific Coast League players, highlighted by Hall of Famers Lloyd Waner (rookie card), Paul Waner, and Tony Lazzeri, and also Babe Herman (rookie card) and Lefty O'Doul. The 1925 Zeenut set is comprised of players from eight different teams (Los Angeles, Oakland, Portland, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Seattle, and Vernon). A large collection of 1925 Zeenuts such as this is very rarely offered. Condition is 9% Gd to Vg, 69% Fair (half of which present Vg to Ex but are downgraded due to writing on the reverse), and 22% Poor. We have selected six cards to be graded by SGC. Keys: Daly (FAIR 20), Herman (FAIR 20), Tony Lazzeri (FAIR 20), O'Doul (FAIR 20), Reese (Fr), Lloyd Waner RC (POOR 10), and Paul Waner (POOR 10). As is usually the case with Zeenuts, the coupon at the bottom of each card has been clipped away, as intended, to be redeemed for valuable prizes. Missing only the following cards for completion: Arlett, Bagby, Barfoot, Brown, Christian, Cochrane, Cook, Crandall, Crane, Crosby, Deal, Ennis, Essick, Griffin/Vernon, Grimes, High, Hulvey, Hunnefield, Kohler, Kunz, Leverenz, Lewis, Ludolph, Martin/Portland, McCarren, McDonald, McGinnis/Portland, Mulcahy, Penner, Rowland, Ryan, Schang, Siglin, Twombly, Wolfer, Woodring, and Yeargin. This partial set is part of a large original-owner Zeenut collection, consigned to this auction by the family of the gentleman who collected these cards as a child, which we have broken down into smaller lots by year. Total: 128 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $3,851.25
