1926 Zeenut PCL Near-Complete Set (139/172)

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,896.00

Near-complete set of 139 of the 172 different 1926 Zeenut cards featuring Pacific Coast League players. Also included are seven duplicates. The 1926 Zeenut set is comprised of players from eight different teams (Hollywood, Los Angeles, Mission, Oakland, Portland, Sacramento, San Francisco, and Seattle). A large grouping such as this is very rarely seen. Condition: 13% Gd-Vg, 60% Fr, and 27% Pr with a few lesser. As is usually the case with Zeenuts, the coupon at the bottom of each card has been clipped away (except for one card-Ludolph), as intended, to be redeemed for valuable prizes. Many cards have been downgraded due to writing on the reverse, which "comes with the territory" with Zeenuts. Missing the following cards for completion: Averill, Boyd, Brady, Brazil, Couch, Cutshaw, Eldred, Elliott, Ellsworth, Elsh, Fenton, Hannah, Hasty, Holmes, Hulvey, Jenkins, Johnson, Kerr/SF, Kilduff, Mangum, Martin, Meeker, O’Doul, Peters, Pillette, Plummer, Rachac, Ramsey, Rohwer, Ssherlock, E. Smith, Statz, and Waner. This 1926 Zeenut near-complete set is part of a comprehensive Zeenut collection that has been broken down by year into a number of smaller but still very substantial lots. Total: 146 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+.
