1931 Zeenut PCL Near-Complete Set (115/120)

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,303.50

Near-complete set of 115 of the 120 different 1931 Zeenut cards featuring Pacific Coast League players. The 1931 Zeenut set is comprised of players from eight different teams (Hollywood, Los Angeles, Mission, Oakland, Portland, Sacramento, San Francisco, and Seattle). The 1931 Zeenut set is the first year the cards were no longer dated on the front. A near-complete set such as this is very rarely seen. 18% grade Gd with a few better and 82% are evenly distributed Pr to Fr (including Frank Crosetti) with nine lesser. Many of the "Fair" cards present nicer but have been downgraded due to writing on the reverse, which "comes with the territory" with Zeenuts. Also included are five duplicates. As is usually the case with Zeenuts, the coupon at the bottom of each card has been clipped away, as intended, to be redeemed for valuable prizes. Missing only Knothe, Parker, H. Pilette, Ryan, and Uhalt for completion. This 1931 Zeenut near-complete set is part of a comprehensive Zeenut collection that has been broken down by year into a number of smaller but still very substantial lots. Total: 115 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,303.50
