1909-1911 T206 White Border Printing Error: Mickey Doolin (Phila, NL)

Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $9,480.00

Extremely unusual T206 card of Mickey Doolin of the Philadelphia Phillies with a factory printing error. The card has a severe factory miscut on the front and back, featuring a substantial portion of the card below on the sheet. When it comes to the T206 set, which is the most highly collected of all vintage card sets, anything unusual (especially if it might in any way shed light on the mysteries of how the T206 set was printed) is of great note. This is an extremely rare and unusual printing anomaly that can be appreciated at a glance. As collectors have become more sophisticated, there has been a growing appreciation for all great rarities and unusual cards associated with the landmark T206 set. This is a fascinating printing error. The card is low-grade due to substantial creasing, but the important visual aspects of the printing that make the card so interesting, both front and back, are bold and intact. Value is always subjective, but in this case, because of its uniqueness, there is no consensus on value for this card. We are confident the auction process will provide clarity. Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $9,480.00
