1909-1911 T206 White Border Collection (15) with Walter Johnson

Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $948.00

Attractive collection of fifteen cards from the 1909-1911 T206 White Borders set highlighted by four Hall of Famers. We have submitted the four key cards to be graded by SGC. Included are the following: Brown/port. (HOF, GOOD 30), Davis (HOF, GOOD+ 35), Dougherty/port., Elberfeld/port. N.Y., Evers/port. (HOF, Authentic due to slight trim or miscut along top edge, bold color, off-center T/B), Gibson, Johnson/port. (HOF, Authentic due to slight trim or miscut on bottom edge, appears Ex-Mt on front with light paper pull along top reverse border), Jones/port., Kling, Lobert, Nicholls/hands on knees, Pelty/horizontal, Schulte/front view, Stovall/port., and Sullivan. All cards present with vibrant colors, bright white borders, and are fairly well centered. Condition ranges from Fair to Vg due to small flaws such as chipping, paper abrasions, and corner wear (a few are trimmed or miscut). Thirteen cards have a Sweet Caporal 150 reverse while two have a Piedmont 150 reverse. These cards originate from the personal collection of Keith Sutton, one of the founding members of SABR (Society for American Baseball Research). Attractive group with several significant highlights that are especially appealing to many collectors as they can be purchased for a small fraction of the cost of their higher-graded counterparts. Total: 15 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $948.00
