1909-1911 T206 White Border EX 5 Collection (27)

Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $3,851.25

Collection of twenty-seven different T206 White Border tobacco cards, each professionally graded and encapsulated EX 5 (except five EX+ 5.5). Each card has a Piedmont or Sweet Caporal advertising back and is graded by PSA unless otherwise noted. This is part of a larger collection of T206 cards which we have broken down into several smaller lots organized by condition. The collection consists of the following: Abbaticchio/blue sleeves (SGC EX 60), Cicotte (Black Sox, EX+ 5.5), Ferris (SGC EX 60), P. Graham (EX+ 5.5), Knight/with bat, Liebhardt, Maloney, D. Miller (SGC EX 60), Nicholls/batting (BVG EX+ 5.5), O'Leary/hands on knees, Oldring/batting (Tolstoi, SGC EX 60), Perring, Pfeister/throwing (SGC EX 60), Randall, Schaefer (BVG EX+ 5.5), Schlafly, Schlei/portrait, Seymour/throwing (SGC EX 60), Starr (SGC EX 60), Summers, B. Sweeney, Taylor, Sheckard/glove showing, F. Smith/white cap, He. Smith, Stahl/no glove (GAI EX+ 5.5), and Wilhelm/with bat (SGC EX 60). This is a very impressive group that could serve as a substantial foundation for a high-quality T206 collection, or make a significant contribution to the completion of an extremely high quality set. The fact that all are Excellent to Excellent+, a grade range which many believe offers one of the very best values for cards from the classic T206 series, makes this a particularly noteworthy grouping. The equivalent SMR value for the collection (factoring the five EX+ cards in at the EX level) is $3,540. Total: 27 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000+. SOLD FOR $3,851.25
