1909-1911 T206 SGC-Graded Collection (6) Including Four Hall of Famers

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $2,370.00

Collection of six different cards from the classic T206 set highlighted by Hall of Famers Johnny Evers, Nap Lajoie, Joe Tinker, and Ed Walsh. Each card is graded and encapsulated by SGC (all submitted by REA). These cards were purchased by our consignor in the 1980s and very early 1990s, before the advent of professional grading, advertised as Nr/Mt-Mt examples with exceptional eye-appeal. 1) Hal Chase/Portrait, Blue Background (EX/NM 80, Old Mill). 2) Johnny Evers/With Bat, Chicago on Shirt (EX/NM 80). 3) Nap Lajoie/With Bat (EX+ 70, Old Mill). 4) Fred Snodgrass/Batting (EX+ 70). 5) Joe Tinker/Bat On Shoulder (VG 40, appears Ex-Mt, very faint surface wrinkling). 6) Ed Walsh (VG/EX+ 55). Each card has been beautifully preserved, presenting with exceptional colors, near-perfect centering, and very strong corners. This is a very impressive looking group with several key Hall of Famers, each having an appearance superior to its technically accurate assigned grade. This is a small but very high quality group that is ideal for anyone building a quality T206 set or T206 Hall of Famer collection. The equivalent SMR value for the six graded cards is $1,970. Total: 6 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $2,370.00
