1909-1911 T206 Bock Hooker PSA NM-MT 8 – Southern Leaguer

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $5,628.75

Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. One of only four examples graded at this level by PSA with one graded higher. Outstanding ultra high-grade PSA example of Southern Leaguer Bock Hooker. This card is a gem! Huge borders! Bright and crisp, with four sharp corners, excellent centering, and extremely bold colors. Clean and boldly printed Old Mill reverse. If not for just the slightest touch of wear in the upper left corner and perhaps the centering on the reverse (slightly to the right), we believe this card would have graded PSA MINT 9. It is very close and certainly presents as a MINT card. The Southern Leaguers have always been appreciated for their scarcity and as a popular subset to the T206 series. This is a particularly striking ultra high-grade example worthy of the finest T206 set in the world. We have found that at auction, cards from extremely popular sets with very low populations in the highest grades can often sell for far more than SMR, and this is especially the case with classic vintage sets such as the T206 White Borders. SMR is $1,575. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $5,628.75
