1933 R319 Goudey #144 Babe Ruth PSA NM-MT 8

Starting Bid - $5,000.00, Sold For - $23,700.00

Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Extremely high grade example of the ideal classic Babe Ruth bubble-gum card, featuring the Babe in his follow-through batting pose. Only five examples are graded higher out of 938 examples graded to date by PSA. This is an extraordinary card with vibrant colors and near-flawless registration. The corners show only the slightest traces of wear, and the card is centered slightly towards the bottom. The reverse is perfectly clean with bold green print. This is one of the most popular and recognizable baseball cards from any era. Considered by many to represent the best value in high grade among the four Babe Ruth cards in the 1933 Goudey set, the #144 Ruth card is always greatly sought after, on any short list of the hobby's most classic cards, and, of course, extremely rare to find in such high grade. One of the highest PSA-graded examples in the world of one Babe Ruth's most important and highly prized baseball cards. SMR value is $19,000. Reserve $5,000. Estimate $10,000+. SOLD FOR $23,700.00
