1965 Topps Wise Guy Buttons Unopened Wax Boxes (3 boxes, 72 packs) Plus Three Complete Sets, Singles, Extra Packs, and Wrappers

Collection of three original complete unopened wax boxes, as well as three complete sets, extra buttons, packs, and wrappers, from the Topps "Wise Guy Buttons" series. Issued by Topps in 1965, this unusual set includes twenty-four buttons each bearing a humorous saying or illustration. This lot includes three unopened wax boxes, each of which house twenty-four five-cent wax packs containing one button. The interior packs are all Nr/Mt or better condition. The three displays boxes present with minimal handling wear visible with two boxes displaying minor bowing on one or two panels as a result of storage throughout the years. Accompanying the boxes are an additional fourteen unopened wax packs as well as thirteen empty wrappers, all in Nr/Mt condition (with one lesser). A total of 119 additional buttons are also included, representing three complete sets of twenty-four buttons and forty-seven duplicates. Almost all of the buttons present in Nr/Mt or better condition with vibrant colors and only minor scratches visible on a few. This is an outstanding collection of these rarely seen wax boxes, as well as related materials, from this unusual mid-1960s Topps nonsport issue.
