1911 T205 Gold Border Collection (74 cards)

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $2,962.50

Presented is an attractive collection of seventy-four different cards from the classic T205 Gold Borders set. This lot is highlighted by Hall of Famers Frank Chance, Fred Clarke, Hugh Jennings, and Bobby Wallace, as well as several variations. Each card in this lot appears to have been mounted in an album at one point in time with varying degrees of glue residue or small paper loss present on the reverse. While technically most cards would grade Gd for this reason, the majority of this lot presents at a far superior level from the front. Without respect to the issues on the reverse, this lot grades 32% Ex, 43% evenly distributed Vg to Vg-Ex, and 25% Pr to Gd. We have selected three cards to be graded by SGC. This lot consists of the following: Austin, Bailey, Barger/full, Barry, Bates, Beck, Bell, Chance (HOF, SGC GOOD 30), Clarke (HOF, SGC FAIR 20), Crandall/crossed, Criger, Devlin, Dickson, Doolan, Dougherty/white, Downey, Elberfeld, Evans, Ewing, Fletcher, Ford/black, Ford/white (SGC VG+ 45), Foxen, Fromme, Gardner, Gibson, Hemphill, Herzog, Hummel, Jennings (HOF), D. Jones, T. Jones, Killian, Knight, Krause, Leever, Lennox, Livingston, Lobert, Lord, Lush, Mattern, McConnell, McIntire, Meyers, Miller, Mitchell, Murphy, Murray, Needham, O’Leary, Oldring, Olmstead, Overall, Parent, Payne, Pelty, Pfeister, Quinn, Reulbach, Schaefer, Schlei, Schulte, Scott, Sheckard, Smith, Stahl, Stanage, Summers, Tannehill, Thomas, Wallace/cap (HOF), D. White, and Wilson. This is very presentable collection of cards that offers a relatively affordable opportunity to acquire nearly one-third of this classic set at a fraction of the cost of higher -graded examples without sacrificing eye-appeal. Total: 74 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $2,962.50
