Extremely attractive and extremely high-grade complete 1933 R39 "Dare Devils" set issued by National Chicle. All twenty-four cards have been graded and encapsulated by PSA. This is the finest of the very few "Dare Devils" sets we have ever offered. The PSA grades are as follows: Two NM-MT 8: #16 (OC) and 21 (OC). Four NM 7: #11, 13, 14, and 17. Four EX-MT 6: #2, 4, 15, and 22. One EX+ 5.5: #23. Six EX 5: #6, 9, 10, 18, 19, and 24. Seven VG-EX 4: #1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 12, and 20. This fascinating set features various "Death Defying Deeds in the Air," "Daring Deeds of Firemen and Policemen," "Famous Gangsters on the Spot," "Official G-Men Captures," "Wild West Dare Devils," and "Do-Or-Die Heroes." The exceptional artwork, brilliant colors, and controversial subject matter make the "Dare Devils" set one of the 1930s' most popular nonsport sets. Some cards are gruesome, some celebrate gangsters, others tell scary true-life stories involving danger, and even death. It's easy to see why kids would love "Dare Devils." What more could one ask from a bubble-gum card set? This is a very attractive, and overall extremely high grade, complete set of one of the most classic of all 1930s nonsport issues. Total: 24 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000+. SOLD FOR $5,036.25
